Why does the soil moisture status show “Uncalibrated”?

About Ivy’s Soil Moisture Sensor

Ivy Gen 2 is equipped with a proprietary soil moisture sensor as part of PlantsIO’s PlantSense 2.0 system. The system is designed to automatically adapt to different plants and soil types, without requiring manual calibration.

Why “Uncalibrated” Appears

When Ivy is first used, the sensor needs time to learn the actual soil–plant environment.
This self-learning process typically takes 1–2 watering cycles. During this period, the soil moisture status may appear as “Uncalibrated.”

Before calibration is complete, the sensor temporarily reports values based on a factory reference soil sample, which is normal and expected.

What You Need to Do

Nothing at all. 🌱
Calibration runs automatically in the background and is triggered naturally during watering. No user action is required.

Once calibration is complete, Ivy will provide accurate soil moisture readings tailored to your plant–soil environment.
